As most people know, June was Pride month. And many companies changed their logos to the rainbow colors symbol of the LGBTQ+ community.
But what else? And what now that it’s July? If all you’re doing is changing the colors of your logo in June, let’s call it what it was— performative.
I am not into performative stuff and I cannot stand virtue signaling. #NotMe is the best solution that exists for the problems of workplace misconduct reporting. We are a company with a mission, a vision, a great team and smart tech tools to achieve that vision and accomplish the mission. At #NotMe, we like action and value positive impact. Not performative BS.
Changing the color of a logo changes nothing, zero, nada if employees from the LGBTQ+ community do not feel welcome, respected, safe and most importantly included.
In our team (employees, advisors & ambassadors) we have several members of the LGBTQ+ community. They are respected, valued, welcomed and always included. I, as the CEO of the company, hope that they know they are and feel it.
We are passionate about the individual – the “person.” And we believe that what happens to each and every one of us matters. We are all equals but we are not all the same. Our beliefs, experiences and other things in our lives make us unique. We are fans of that uniqueness that makes you the person you are. So if you work at #NotMe and you’re a member of the LGBTQ+ community, we embrace that part of you if it matters to you.
So now that Pride month has concluded, I hope – and make the wish – that leaders and companies will join me in making workplaces safe & inclusive for people from the LGBTQ+ community – for real.
And if you are the CEO of a company and you like changing the color of your logo, keep doing it. But it cannot be the only thing that you’re doing. Think about that. Performative stuff is BS.
